System Requirements and Installation
Seula is a native Mac app. It asks for access only to the folders you open.
Requirements
| Operating system | macOS 12 Monterey or later |
| Mac | An Apple silicon or Intel Mac running a supported macOS version |
| Display | A Retina display is recommended for checking detail. HDR photos need a display with the brightness range for them |
Install Seula
- Drag Seula to the Applications folder.
- Open Seula from Applications or Launchpad. If macOS asks you to confirm an app downloaded from the internet, click Open.
Give Seula access to photos
The first time that you open a folder, macOS may ask you to confirm access.
- Choose File ▸ Open Folder (⌘O) or File ▸ Open File (⇧⌘O).
- Select a folder or photo, then click Open.
- If macOS asks for permission, click OK.
Recently opened folders appear in File ▸ Open Recent and in the sidebar's Recents list.
Seula works only with folders you open. Ratings are stored in JPEG files or in XMP sidecar files next to photos. Thumbnails are stored in a macOS-managed cache. Seula does not send your data over the network. See Metadata and compatibility and Performance and cache.
Choose a language
Choose Seula ▸ Settings (⌘,), then General ▸ Appearance ▸ Language. System default uses your Mac's language. Seula restarts when you change its language.
